Built in Uganda, for Uganda’s smallholders

Farms that keep records,
earn premiums.

Trace every animal. Trust every step.

AgricTrace turns smallholder farms into transparent, traceable producers ready for premium and export markets. Livestock lifecycle records, quality grading, finance with per-animal profitability, and a QR-coded Digital Origin Passport, all in one platform.

The challenge

Smallholders feed Uganda.
The market doesn’t see them.

Agriculture employs 70% of Uganda’s workforce, yet most farms operate without a single digital record of what they grow, what it costs, or how it was raised. AgricTrace closes that gap.

Invisible to the formal economy

Most smallholders run their farms entirely from memory. No breeding records, no feed costs, no sales ledger. Banks won’t lend without records. Cooperatives can’t pool product from undocumented members. Buyers willing to pay premiums move on.

Locked out of traceable markets

Modern food markets, from supermarket chains to EU buyers under EUDR, demand verifiable chain-of-custody. Smallholders without digital paperwork are quietly priced out of the higher-margin segments of the very markets they help create.

No data, no resilience

Climate volatility hits smallholders hardest, and amplifies invisibility. A farmer with no records cannot adapt. A buyer demanding deforestation-free supply cannot source. Both transitions reward transparency and punish absence.

The platform

Everything a farm needs,
in one place.

Lifecycle records, quality, traceability, finance, payments, and mobile data capture. Every module shares the same design language, permissions, and farm context, so training is minimal and mistakes are fewer.

Livestock lifecycle

Birth to sale for pigs, chicken, goats, and cattle. Breeding, weights, movements, mortality, and processing in one place.

Health & breeding

Vet visits, vaccinations, treatments with withdrawal periods, parturition, and lactation. Alerts respect your protocols.

Finance that knows your animals

Every cost-bearing activity, vaccinations, transport, wages, sales, posts to a single ledger. Per-animal profitability becomes a real number.

Digital Origin Passport

QR-coded chain-of-custody from breeding to delivery. Audit-ready for organic, halal, fair-trade, and EUDR.

SMS for every farmer

Africa’s Talking SMS lets feature-phone farmers register events and receive vaccination reminders. Same ledger as smartphone users.

Mobile money, native

MTN MoMo, Airtel Money, and Flutterwave checkout for sales and subscriptions. Reconcile farm and customer payments in one model.

IoT-ready

MQTT broker, sensor model, and alerts pipeline already wired in. Plug in temperature, humidity, water-flow probes when you’re ready.

ML-driven climate alerts

Hyperlocal 7-day heat and rainfall forecasts, plus livestock anomaly detection delivered as SMS in Luganda and Runyankole.

How it works

From invisible smallholder
to documented producer.

  1. Step 01

    Register your farm

Add your farm in minutes. Pick which species you raise (pigs, chicken, goats, cattle) and the dashboard configures itself. Invite your team with role-based access.

  2. Step 02

Train your team in their language

Workers capture daily events offline-first on the mobile app, in Luganda or Runyankole. Feature-phone farmers participate via SMS. Digital Champions train peers.

  3. Step 03

    Track every animal, every transaction

Births, treatments, feed, mortalities, and sales hit one ledger. Per-animal profitability becomes a real number you can act on, not an estimate.

  4. Step 04

    Earn premiums via traceability

Issue QR-coded Digital Origin Passports for your produce. Cooperatives, certified buyers, and EU importers can verify the chain of custody in one click.

The worker app

Built for muddy hands.
Optimised for the thumb.

Workers capture daily events offline. The app syncs the moment a bar of signal returns, batches repetitive entries (weigh ten animals at once), and turns every QR / RFID tag into a one-tap shortcut to that animal’s record.
